It's Time For Christmas

I know I am a little late get this quilt finished by about 6 months but you could look at it this way, I could be a little early - by about 6 months....depends if you are a kinda - glass half empty or full - type of person...
I am going with the 6 months early....
Wow how early am I getting some of my christmas sewing out of the way already.. and I have heaps of time to do some more projects before christmas gets here....
I did have a little help along the way...
I was trying to sew the binding on my quilt but someone had other ideas.   Maci got around the back of my sewing machine and climbed through the folded quilt.   She then proceeded to act as if she was there to stay with a little preening....
Now this could be another example of the -glass half empty or full - again...I like to think of it as helping, how I have no idea but it's finished now...
My quilt finished, didn't take me long at all to complete (ok little white lie here...lol)
Boy does time fly.  On Monday I am going on retreat with some of the girls and I thought that it would be a good idea to clean my machine as prep-work for the retreat....Just look how much lint I found....you may be thinking that I have never cleaned my machine but I do - honestly - it just seems to build up very quickly or I just do a lot of sewing between cleaning...
I have packed all the important things first ....machine - check........sewing projects - check......
Well that's it for me....I hope you all have a fabulous week, I will catch up with blogland as soon as I get back....cheers...xx

Can Anyone See What Is Wrong With This Photo???

Have a real good look at this photo and see if you can guess what is wrong with it.....
You might be thinking...
a.    There is no insulation in the water bottle holder...or..
b.    The wording on the stitching is misspelled.....or....
c.    There is stitching missing somewhere.....or...
d.    Well to tell the truth I have no idea what you are thinking so I will tell you...

The contents in this photo belong to HELEN  - you all know Helen, I am sure, but if you don't then you would not know that Helen HATES mug rugs with a passion...and is always telling us that my little kitty - Maci - would make a great mug rug...   So I am not sure which one she hates most but they are definitely in the same list...
To make matters worse...Helen made this set - including the mug rug - herself for herself....and I am telling you, most of us were speechless (well only for a few seconds - surprising I know, but it does happen) and had no idea how to respond....Just goes to show you that you can PEER PRESSURE someone into doing anything....even liking mug rugs......maybe we can work on her into liking Maci...
I might add that we all offered to take the offensive items off her, but she said no.....(we were only trying to help her be herself)....and I also asked when the aliens were returning the REAL Helen......cause it would be nice to know (maybe after the alien Helen has made some for the rest of us though)...
Anyhow just thought you should all know - if you see Helen around the place she may  not be acting like herself.....
lol
cheers....xxx

It's Mine - I'm Telling You...All mine...

I am so glad I have made two of these, because I think one of them has been claimed...oh well...
Meow.....mine - all mine...
Hey - where did the mouse go???
 There you are......kill, kill.....
 I'm a big bad hunter....
 Grrrrrrrr......here me roar.....
I think I have lost it, with the chances of keeping it to myself pretty slim....
The mailman brought me my new book today, all the way from The Patchworkplus shop in Tasmania and a free choccie from the new magazine - Yours - yummy - looks like it's time to put the feet up, have a coffee, a choccie and read a new book...can I purr too....

cheers

What's Behind Door Number One...

Why it's a new car......Tuesdays gathering started off pretty normal with a little bit of sewing, morning tea and lots of chatter, but things can change very quickly with this bunch...
After some discussion about Helen's new car it was decided that The New Car needed to be unleashed onto the roads......yep - Road Trip....
Here we are admiring Helen's shiny new toy.....looks a little clean here, but we can fix that...
It's a little worrying when the driver is unsure of all the buttons in the car...We wanted to turn the talking directions thingy magiggy off, after all, there is enough talking going on without the car trying to interrupt us.
I wonder if it is this button??
No, well maybe this one......
I think The New Car thinks it is already a member of the Tuesday Girls, cause it wont shut up....mmm she might fit in really well....lol
We did eventually get her to be quiet, but by this time the kids in the back were playing up....
First destination was our local scrapbooking shop, unfortunately this shop is closing down and we won't be able to drop in soon..
You have to worry when The New Car keeps telling you to turn around and go home - do you think it was nervous having us in it....we did finally get her to be quiet - and no we did not shove something in her mouth...
Second stop - The Coffee Club.....well we need to celebrate the arrive of Helen's new baby...I had the Churros with chocolate dipping sauce...(we obviously did not get enough sugar at last Sunday's meeting)..
Another lovely day with the girls, as usual, lots of laughs, yummy foods, shopping and well maybe a little stitching...
We did return the car back home, maybe a little dusty and with dirty floor mats but with no bruises to speak of.....and with a future booking for Helen to drive us to our next retreat....(this is of course if Helen's hubby will let us play with it again..lol)...
Now I do sew, some might wonder with all the outings and eatings I do, but yes I truly do, and to prove it, I have finally finished my Harvest Festival Quilt...
I am so pleased with it and to have actually finished something big....I am known to only finish the tops and then let them sit in my sewing room until I get around to the quilting part...(I hate the quilting part)...
Now where will I put it???
And last but not least - The Tuesday Girls have been working on Natalie Bird's Mouse Pincushion and I have finished mine.....except for the little felt ball for the tops - they are coming...
I have made two - one for me and one for the gift box.   Another project finished.....yippee....
Well that's all for today....catchya all later...xxx

Biggest Morning Tea - Sunday Stitches

The Sunday Stitches hosted a Biggest Morning Tea on the weekend and it was heaps of fun...
There were heaps of yummy "pink" goodies to eat.....pink cakes, pink dip, pink bikkies, etc....
The girls went all out with their "pink" treats.....
Everything was delicious and wow what a sugar over-load, I don't think it affected me at all.....much...
What a way to start the day....zucchini slice, apple and blueberry crumble, pink m and m's, pink lamington,
and a little pink marshmellow tea cup bikkie....
Ok so this was first course, but I stopped taking photos of everything else I ate....don't want to make you too envious....
Some of the girls are doing a stitch-a-long ....Gossip In My Garden....their blocks are coming along beautifully.   I would much rather prefer they made a mess of it because it would make it easier to resist starting this quilt myself...but oh no, they have to do a wonderful job and each time we get together, temptation just niggles at me a little more...(I do not need another quilt, I do not need another quilt).
We had a couple of games on the day - no photos - silly me....but Susan won the "how many coffee beans in the jar" competition and Helen won the raffle....congratulations girls...
Here are two very well behaved girls....Teresa and myself....don't we look all lady-like with our little teacup bikkies....the sign behind us says it all......how can we not smile  - we are loved.....
We then had some show 'n' tell...
Here is Helen, hiding behind her Twilight Garden, you can't see it very well, but there is embroidery all over this quilt and it has taken Helen some time to finish....photos just don't do it justice....
Here is Helen and the designer, Maureen,  checking out all her beautiful handiwork...
I think my new kitty would love this quilt to curl up on...especially seeing as Helen can not find anywhere to hang it up in her house.....too many quilts, might be time to pass a few on to some "special" friends..wink wink....
Here is Inca showing us her finished quilt top, it is so pretty with lots of beautiful blocks, must have taken ages to do...well done Inka...
The lovely Linda show off her recently finished block.   I am looking forward to seeing the rest of her blocks...
Now you might be wondering, with all the chatting, eating and laughing, if I actually did some sewing and the answer would be "yes".   I have been working on Natalie Bird's Mouse Pin-cushion... I didn't have any blue wool felt in my stash so have gone with pink and green...
The applique panel...
The stitchery panel and the Hexagon/needle book panel...
It was a fantastic day, thank you Maree for organizing the day and thank you ladies for making the day great...I know for a fact that there were lots of laughing going on down our end of the table, I think we may just have had a wee to much sugar....
That's all for me...hope you all have a wonderful day...xxx

Woof.....nah only joking....

This post is for kitty lovers only.....
I wanted to make sure Maci Grey was use to the car and didn't freak out if we ever needed to take her anywhere and today I made a run to a fabric shop, and felt it was the perfect opportunity to bring her along...
She had a ball, I think maybe she thought she was a dog cause she wanted to look out the windows and check where we were going...
I did put a collar and leash on her before we went, just in case, but she seemed to enjoy her ride even though it tuckered her out a little..
Here she is taking a rest on my lap (hubby was driving)....Mental Note :- Don't wear black when taking her
in the car, my shirt had white fur all over it and sometimes it even looked like snow floating around the car with all her fur....ok slight exaggeration here but my shirt was a little furry...
Hubby watched her while I was in the shop, opening the windows so she could say hello to anyone entering the quilt shop and willing to give her a pat.
Back at home now feeling very tired from her adventures, she curled up on my lap, gave a yawn and
went to sleep...   I like this photo of her yawning at me cause it looks like she is having a good old laugh...lol
 Sleeping in my (mummies) lap.....
When she woke she was full of beans - as usual - and decide she did not like the look of the tassel on
my project bag...
Oh well, it's only a tassel....
I apologize now to any cat haters (and Helen) if I have bored you, I will try and make sure my next post is of some stitching....cross my heart....
Cya Later
