Glenrose Retreat June/July

Lots of photos in todays blog, just crammed so much into four days that I feel the need to get it all out in one post...so here goes....
Day 1....
Arrival...and look who is sitting on my bed.....I think she wants to come home with me..
Gifts from Maree.....The Lovely Maree gave us this gorgous little bag with choccies, pattern, fabric and
and accessories to make a project, and a beautiful wine glass tag with a sewing machine charm on it...
So first port of call is to make the challenge supplied by Maree...I do realise it was suppose to be a thread catcher but I thought it would make a good choccie holder....and of course - need I mention how much I love roses....
We had a birthday girl amongst us on the first day....Cheryl, Happy Birthday Cheryl, hope you had a lovely day....
Here is our lovely Cheryl with her princess tiara on and holding her cake.....yum...
Cheryl wanted to celebrate her birthday by make us all dinner....talk about spoilt....thanks Cheryl...
We were then treated to a game of pass-the-parcel....I thinking Maree is in a hurry to see her prize...
And Helen gave us all a Goody bag - and yep they were full of all the usual goody bag stuff...choccies, whistles, games, puzzles, bubble blowers and a ring....
We were all like little kids - everyone blowing the whistles and eating goodies, fighting over who has who's
toy....
I think maybe kids would have been a little bit more behaved but we definitely would have had more fun than the kids...
Did I mention we went into our favourite gift shop - Bryson's - before getting to the retreat...
I brought home this cute little milk crate with bottles....it is smaller than a normal size bottle, hence the mandrine sitting next to it...
Day 2.....
Another trip to Bryson's....and some more items to come home with me.. a set of hooks for the wall, some lovely scented soaps - Rose, of course and some doilies...
A bite to eat while visiting our favourite shop..  Lamb and Rosemary Filo Pastry....yum
After our stop at Bryson's, we went for a stoll through town to a wonderful little quilt shop - Canning Town
Patchwork....they have some lovely fabrics here and I chose to buy some christmas themed fabrics and a kit for a "Rose" table runner......did I mention that I have a thing for roses....if not then I do....

I did do a little sewing, a couple more project bags....they are almost finished, just have to sew the binding down...
A few more fabric purchases from Glenrose Patchwork.....
Day 3....
Helen has finished her christmas jelly roll quilt top....I love this quilt, might have to put my name on it....
Marilyn and De discussing Helen's beautiful work....
I finished this little bag called the Sew Together Bag....
It has three zipper pockets inside and one large zipper on the outside....oh the joy - zippers - I just love zippers (a little bit of sarcasm there)....but I am proud of my finished project...
And look how much it holds....heaps and I still had more room....
Some of the girls made this bag too....don't they look fantastic....we are such a clever little bunch..
The girls.....Lynda and Maree our wonderful retreat organiser....
 The troublemakers.....Me, Teresa and Helen....
The birthday girl...Cheryl working on some stitching...
De and Marilyn.....De wouldn't let me take the photo until she tidied her table (it was a tad messy) and Marilyn has her quilt blocks on the wall behind her.
Alison is hiding behind her quilt and Lynda is checking out her pattern...
Maree cooked for us on the third night - our chirstmas in July dinner, as we referred to it...
Absolutely delicious....and those potatoes are just devine...Lynda's hubby made sticky date pudding and caramel sauce for dessert but I forgot to get a photo of that....you see it was so nice that eating instincts took over from photo taking instincts....
Day 4....
All our goodbyes have been said and car is now packed, just the final photos to be taken...
Take 1 - behaving ourselves....
 Take 2...not behaving....lol
Teresa was staying an extra night and we were worried about her staying in the cottage all by herself...so we left her some friends to keep her company...
Six chicko lollies, all tucked in bed, on her pillow......I hope she finds them before she hops into bed tonight....lol
When I got home, the picture (ripped out of the local junkmail) was laying on my pillow....very strange..
Hubby finally got home from work and when he was leaving at 5 am he wanted to leave a chocolate on my pillow for my return but didn't have one so he thought the chocolate picture would be enough...lol
Well that's it, I hope....so many photo's I know for one post but its over now and I can move on with my next adventure - eating the real deal now that hubby is home...so good night all....stay safe, sleep tight and may all your quilting dreams come true....cheers...xxx
