Hudson's 1st Birthday

My darling grandson turns one today, where has the year gone....
Here he is posing for the camera...

Here he looks very well behaved but he does have that cheeky streak hiding somewhere...

Playing with some pressies....I like this book nan...

But I will be ok standing on the table..honest

Mum is keeping an eye on me... I dont know if you can see it or not but he has a bruise above and to the right of his eye....this cheeky little boy likes to climb and his mother found him yesterday standing ontop of the desk (he had to climb the swivel chair to get there), so he could reach the ironing board to play with the iron...of course before she could get to him he had fallen with the iron hitting him in the head...he gave her such a fright and with a quick trip to the doctors to find out he was fine, and keen to do it again...I think he may need some bricks tied around his ankles to slow him down...This wasn't the first piece of furniture he has climbed and I doubt it will be the last....

Anyhow, Happy Birthday Sweetheart....
He is having a birthday party for family and friends on the weekend so I am sure I will have more photos to put up....cya

Happy Birthday Tess And Cassies

We had a double celebration on Tuesday with the birthdays of Tereasa and Cassie (aka Teresa). You may have noticed that I refer to one of the Teresa's as Cassie and I am sorry if I confuse anyone but when you have two members of a small group with the same name and the same birthday, I may add,
it gets very confusing to which one is being refered to.  So last year I started calling one of them Cassie (due to her last name)....
Anyhow on to some photos...This year Cassie is having a special birthday - it's the big  5 0 - you know the one - sometimes refered to as - half a century..lol  I can say these things because I am the youngest of the group and 50 to me is miles away...
Cassie on the left and Tereasa on the right...don't they look good.

This maybe why they are smiling...as you can see the cake has both their names on it. It is a black forest cake and it was delicious....

Blowing out the candles...come on girls, hurry up...we are hungry...lol

And of course the pressies...this year for the first time we decided to all put in for the gifts..
Cassie with her french/vintage obsession was given this beautiful clock and some ceramic coasters...

And Tereasa has always commented on the fact that she didn't have a nice teapot to bring out when guest come over...so now does that mean she will use this when we are at her place...I wonder...lol

I have a couple of photos to add to this page...they were taken a few weeks ago when we were having
a secret meeting to plan todays events....anyhow I took these photos of the girls and then realised that I couldn't put them on my blog because we were not meant to be together..
So now I can show you..
Norreen (non blogger) is showing us one of here lovely dolls and a beautiful bag that she had recently finished.

Here is our host for the morning (or should I say for the secret hideout)...Laurel was showing us the
lovely items that she had finished...Laurel is a little slow to finish things so she was chuffed when she could show us some items that were completed...

And here is Helen...I think she is praying because this is the reason Laurel does not finish many things....you see Laurel bakes...and sometimes she will even bake something for us...
Today she had made this yummy cheesecake for us.....I will forgive her for not finishing projects (I can be bought quite easily)..

Have you finished praying Helen....can we eat now....

And this is what happens to Helen when you give here tooo much sugar...lol

So as you can see, we are all keeping on track with any healthy eating plans that we may be on...or not...
We have had a wonderful day celebrating birthdays and chatting as usual....not much sewing is getting done though.....oh well, there is always March...bye for now.

A Blog Meet

I have had such a busy week this week and I concur with everyone - where did February go???
Did someone steal some of it because I am definitely convinced that I am being short changed here when it comes to the days in the month...
On Sunday I had the wonderful opportunity to meet some talented ladies at a blog meet, it was lovely to be able to put some faces to the blogs that I quite regularly stalk.
We had a lovely time at Shorncliffe with lots of chatting, show n tell and delicious food, not much sewing got done though - I wonder why?

We met here at the Cafe On The Park.

Some of the beautiful bags made by the girls (please don't ask me their names as I may get it wrong and I don't want to offend anyone)...I do know for sure the one on the left is Teresa..

And here is Noela's bag...why are they all hiding behind the bags???

Some Show 'n' Tell...

Some turtles having their own meeting...
Now for the moment you have all been waiting for...yes I know.....here it is - The Food...
Here I am being a little silly with my Milk shake and another photo of the desert in which I devoured,
just in case you can't tell - its a Banofe (caramel, banana, cream etc).

Thanks Marie for inviting me along to the blog meet.  I had a wonderful time, so wonderful in fact that I was exhausted when I got home..

A Day Out

Yesterday I accompanied Helen to collect her quilt - It is a  Faeries In My Garden one and at the moment I can't think of the name of it...I was having alot of trouble with my words yesterday -too much laughing, we both ended up with the sillies...
It was quite a drive to the quilter's place so of course we had to stop for refreshments at The Coffee Shop..unfortunately I didn't take any photo's at this stop but I did remember to eventually get the camera out..
We decided to drop into the Faeries In My Garden shop to see what new was happening this year and to show them the brilliant job Helen had done on their quilt..
Here we have the designer and the creator - Helen is the little one in the centre...The photo does not by any means give the quilt justice.  Maybe if we ask Helen nicely she might take some close up photos of the blocks...They were delighted at the shop to see one of their designs done to perfection and the conversations reflected their appreciation of Helen taking the time to bring it in to them..

If I am not mistaken the quilt today will have its binding attached...if we weren't so exhausted after our day out I think Helen would have attached it last night, so my bets are on today..

Still in conversation...mmmm..don't you know how dangerous it is for someone like me to hang around tooo long in a shop like this...just as well I have fabricoholics on speed dial..

Ok time for more sustainous....off for a walk to the corner cafe...We were well behaved and did not order sweets. (mostly because we had dessert at the first shop).  And I did not buy one thing in Faeries In My Garden....I was a good girl - stop laughing girls, it does happen...lol

On the way home we called into see one of the Tuesday Girls - Tereasa - who has had the nerve to be working most Tuesdays this year and so we have not seen her much...How dare she...doesn't she realise that Tuesday is off limits for any appointments, baby sitting and even work..it is our sacred day...
Well that was the last straw for me, another shop full of beautiful fabrics and I am to keep behaving myself...I think not...
We were there for ages, laughing and carrying on, and pulling bolts of fabrics out of the shelves, while we caught up on everything..She has promised us that she will be back soon....

I was after some fabric to start The Christmas Story quilt.  I have not been a brights kinda fabric person and always swing towards blending my fabrics, so I am so grateful that they were there to put some fabrics together... this is what I have ended up with so far..

Now I don't know how it happened but after a little discussion on making the Christmas Quilt by Bronwyn Hayes in the current issue of Homespun - I am suddenly buying more fabric...and I thought I had my addiction under control.  Not a chance...
Helen and Tereasa put together these beautiful fabrics that would suit the project and I knew I just had to have them too...oh crap - what have I done to myself...I am definitely insane thinking I can possibly fit anything more onto my TO DO LIST...They are pretty though..

We laughed so hard on the way home at our insanity, that our words were not coming out correctly...anyone would think we had been drinking...but no that was not the case - I think we were on a high from buying more fabric.  Please don't tell Fabricoholics...
It was a great day, I loved being there when Helen's quilt was handed to her for inspection and visiting the pretty shops, and of course being able to catch up with Tereasa..and bringing home some fabrics that I really did need..
Thanks for a inviting me Helen, I was soo tired when I got home that I had to wait until today to get my thoughts out...and do take some close up photos for others to see..
Cheers.

Happy Valentines Day

Well I hope everyone had a lovely day today...
I had a wonderful start to the day with a bunch of flowers that my hubby picked from our garden.  He leaves for work very early so he had to get up with the birds to collect them.

This afternoon my sons girlfriend gave us these pink butter cookie that she had made herself and some chocies...sorry no photo of the chocolates, all gone, you gotta be quick to get photos of them in this house..

I spent the day working on my christmas tree skirt for this months project for the 12 Months of Christmas sew-a-long with Suzi from stitch scrap sew blog.
It is already to be stitched, which I am guessing is going to take me a while, but at least it will be done for christmas....I hope...lol

Yesterday my mail included these items...and I am already eyeing one of the quilts off to do for this year....I must be insane...but it does look lovely..
Anyhow I hope everyone has had a great day whether you celebrate valentines day or not...

Time for a change

I have decide to change the name of my blog from Sew Moore With Sandi to Forevermoore..
I have been thinking of doing this for some time and seeing we are still early on in the year I have made the change now, before it is too late..
Sew Moore With Sandi was chosen when I worked for Homespun and Beautiful, which sadly closed its doors last year...
We have a sign out the front of our house which my husband made for me when we moved to this house and I have always loved the name so now it seems appropriate to change my blog title to suit myself as a person...I am hoping this does not confuse anyone too much...my odd sense of humour has definitely not changed.
I am going to run outside now and take a photo of my sign....that way I can put it on my blog...just hang on a tick....lol
Ok I'm back, thanks for waiting....here is my sign...I said I wouldn't be long..

While taking the photo above I realised that I have another Forevermoore sign sitting above the kitchen sink...this one was made for us by a dear friend in the sign making field, before he retired..
So I have included a photo of it as well..

And last but not least, I have finished a small Eye Spy Quilt for my grandson's 1st Birthday..I can't believe he will be one at the end of the month..Boy does time fly...

Anyhow thanks for listening once again to the ramblings of a not-so-quite-old woman...
I do hope this does not confuse anyone too much...cya

Summertime and Harvest Festival

So much rain lately has given me a little head start on some of my February blocks in my TO DO LIST..
Here is Summertime - Block 2
I am loving this pattern but I am not so sure about the fabrics I am using - most of the time I am using a range called Shadowplay..I love this range but I am finding it likes to frey alittle.
This is making it hard to blanket stitch and yes girls I am hand stitching -  I know - shock horror - I never hand stitch unless I can help it, much prefer to machine blanket stitch...but there you go, something out of the ordinary for me...after all I don't think I have ever considered myself as ordinary..
Can you hear that - if you listen closely you will hear the Tuesday Girls laughing at me or should I say with me...lol

And here is Harvest Festival - Block 2
I have kept to the pattern for this one, something I am know for not doing...after all I consider patterns to be mearly guidelines and I do like to adapt things to make them my own...or is it just the rebellious side in me that doesn't like being told what to do...
Here is the needleturn block - don't look at the owls eyes (ow Helen - I suck at needleturning small circles -lol) I know practice, practice, practice....

These are the four pieced blocks that go with Block 2..

And last but not least - some more hexagon flowers...

Thats all for now, hope everyone has a great weekend....bye
